Gifts you never get to sell. Cards that expire without anyone noticing. Subscribers who cancel because the fridge is already full. subrocket closes each one, and each one works on its own.

01Sell

A box checkout that sells gifts too

Subscribers pick the box size, how often it ships and when the first one arrives, then pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or card. Tick “This is a gift” and the buyer prepays 3, 6 or 12 boxes instead. On the delivery date the recipient gets a claim link, and can add their own card to keep the boxes coming.

  • Prepaid 3, 6 or 12-box gifts with a claim link

subrocket vs. Stripe on its own

What Stripe leaves to you

Stripe is great at moving money, and subrocket runs on it. But its checkout, account pages and emails look like Stripe, and the jobs a box business needs are either missing or need your own code.

subrocket vs. Stripe on its own
FeatureStripe on its ownWith subrocket
Your brandCheckout and portal run on checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com, or one custom domain for $10 a month. Design stops at logo, colours, a font from Stripe’s list and corner style. No custom text in the portal.11, 12, 13, 14Checkout, account page and every email run on your own domain, in your own fonts and colours, with wording you write.
CheckoutNo-code pricing table shows up to 4 products and 3 billing intervals. The start date is set in your code, not picked by the subscriber.5, 6Subscribers pick box size, how often it ships, the first box date and a delivery window.
Gift subscriptionsNo built-in gifting. You stitch it together from one-off payments, coupons and your own code.Prepaid 3, 6 or 12-box gifts with a claim link. Recipients can keep going on their own card.
Expiring cardsOne reminder, 1 month before the card expires. Sent from stripe.com unless you verify your own email domain. Stripe writes the email; you set the logo and colours.7, 10Reminders 30, 7 and 1 day before, from your domain, in your words and your brand. They stop the moment the card is updated.
Skipping a boxSubscribers can’t pause or skip in the customer portal. Only you can pause, from the Dashboard or API.8Subscribers skip 1, 2 or 3 boxes themselves, from their account page.
Before a cancelAn optional coupon offer and a reason survey.9A skip offer first, for the full fridge. Cancelling stays one click away.

Compared with Stripe Billing’s built-in settings and no-code tools. Keep Stripe’s Smart Retries on: they work after a payment fails, subrocket works before it.

Questions

Anything else? Write to hello@subrocket.com

Do I have to leave Stripe?

No. Customers, prices and invoices stay in your Stripe account. Disconnect any time and everything is still there.

Which businesses is subrocket for?

Subscription boxes billed through Stripe: craft beer and wine clubs, beauty and cosmetics boxes, coffee, pet food, snacks. If it ships on a schedule, it fits.

How do gift subscriptions work?

The buyer prepays 3, 6 or 12 boxes and picks a delivery date. On that date the recipient gets a claim link and can add a card to keep the boxes coming.

When do card update emails go out?

30, 7 and 1 day before a card expires. They stop as soon as the card changes.

Can customers still cancel?

Always, in one click after the skip offer. Making cancelling hard costs you trust, and auto-renewal laws in many places require an easy online cancel.

Will my customers see subrocket?

No. Checkout, the account page and every email run on your own domain, in your fonts and colours, and you write the wording of every email. Your subscribers only ever see your brand.

Is payment data safe?

Card details are collected and stored by Stripe. subrocket never sees full card numbers.

What does it cost?

Nothing up front and no monthly fee. subrocket takes a fixed $0.10 per transaction. Stripe’s usual processing fees apply, exactly as they do today.
